Rolled gold is made for regular wear. A small amount of routine keeps the finish warm and the surface clean.
Every day
- Put jewellery on last, after perfume, hairspray, sunscreen and lotion.
- Take it off first, before bathing, swimming, sport or manual work.
- Wipe each piece with a soft, dry cloth after wear. Avoid tissue and paper towel, which are more abrasive than they feel.
Storage
Store each piece separately, in the pouch it came in or a lined box with compartments. Most visible scratching happens in storage rather than in wear.
Keep jewellery somewhere cool and dry. A bathroom shelf is the worst place in the house; a drawer in a cool room is among the best.
Cleaning
For most pieces: warm water with a very small amount of mild soap, applied with a soft brush, then rinsed and dried completely before storing. Trapped moisture is the thing to avoid.
Pearls should never be soaked or brushed. Wipe them with a barely damp soft cloth and let them dry flat.
Stone-set pieces should be cleaned gently around the setting rather than scrubbed. If a stone feels loose, stop and write to us.
